Automatic reminders with Google Calendar

When you connect Google Calendar to ¡HolaOlas!, each booking automatically becomes an event in your calendar.

Google Calendar then sends you automatic reminders to never forget a booking.

It's the most reliable reminder system in the world, natively integrated into your phone.

How automatic reminders work

The process is simple and automatic:

  • 1. Confirmed booking : When a customer books, ¡HolaOlas! automatically creates an event in your Google Calendar
  • 2. Synchronization : The event appears on all your devices (phone, computer, watch)
  • 3. Automatic reminders : Google Calendar sends you notifications according to your configuration
  • 4. Native notifications : Reminders use your phone's system notifications

No action on your part is required, everything is automatic.

Available reminder types

Google Calendar allows you to configure several types of reminders:

  • Day before reminder : Notification 24h before the event
  • Day of reminder : Notification on the morning of the event
  • Hours before reminder : For example 2h or 1h before
  • Minutes before reminder : For activities starting soon

These reminders can be configured in Google Calendar settings and apply to all your events.

How to configure reminders

Reminders are configured in Google Calendar, not in ¡HolaOlas! :

  • Open Google Calendar on your phone or computer
  • Go to SettingsNotifications
  • Configure default reminders for your events
  • You can also modify reminders for each event individually

Note : Reminders are managed by Google Calendar, ¡HolaOlas! simply creates events in your calendar.

When events are created

Google Calendar events are created automatically:

  • On confirmed booking : As soon as payment is validated
  • On modification : If you modify a booking, the event is updated
  • On full refund : The event is automatically deleted

Everything is synchronized in real time between ¡HolaOlas! and Google Calendar.

Information included in the event

Each event created in Google Calendar contains:

  • Title : Experience name + booking number
  • Date and time : Booking date (or check-in for hotels)
  • Duration : Experience duration or stay period
  • Description : Number of participants, customer email, link to booking
  • Location : If configured in the experience

All this information is visible directly in your calendar.

Synchronization with other calendars

Google Calendar can synchronize with other calendars:

  • External calendars : Booking.com, Airbnb, etc. (via iCal links)
  • Local calendars : iPhone calendar, Outlook, etc.
  • Shared calendars : With your team or customers

This allows you to have a complete view of your availability in one place.

Tips to optimize reminders

  • Configure multiple reminders : For example 24h before AND on the day
  • Adapt according to activity type : More reminders for important activities
  • Use push notifications : Enable them in your phone settings
  • Check regularly : Make sure events appear correctly in your calendar
  • Share with your team : If you work in a team, share the calendar

Well-configured reminders significantly reduce forgetfulness and no-show.
