Automatic and manual translation system

¡HolaOlas! offers a flexible translation system that allows you to offer your experiences in French, English and Spanish.

You can choose between automatic translation (fast and practical) or manual translation (more precise and personalized).

How does it work?

The translation system works on the principle of primary language and secondary languages:

  • Primary language: This is the language in which you create your experience (usually your native language)
  • Secondary languages: Translations into other languages (French, English, Spanish)

All important fields are translatable:

  • Experience name
  • Description
  • Room names (for hotels)
  • Meeting point
  • Included/not included details
  • Cancellation policy
  • And much more...

Automatic translation

Automatic translation uses artificial intelligence to instantly translate your content:

Advantages:

  • Fast: Instant translation with one click
  • 🌍 Practical: Ideal for getting started quickly
  • 🔄 Reversible: You can always modify the automatic translation

How to use it:

1. Fill in your content in your primary language

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the creation/edition page

3. Click on the "View/Edit translations" button

4. The translation modal opens

5. Click on "Translate automatically" for each field

6. The translation appears instantly

7. You can modify it if necessary

💡 Tip: Automatic translation is an excellent starting point, but don't hesitate to personalize translations to better reflect your style and activity.

Manual translation

Manual translation allows you to enter your translations directly:

Advantages:

  • ✍️ Precision: Full control over translated content
  • 🎨 Personalization: Adapt tone and style to each language
  • 🌐 Localization: Adapt content to local culture

How to use it:

1. Fill in your content in your primary language

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the creation/edition page

3. Click on the "View/Edit translations" button

4. The translation modal opens

5. Enter your translation directly in the modal

6. Click on "Save" to save

💡 Tip: You can combine both approaches: use automatic translation as a base, then personalize important parts manually.

Language management

The translation modal allows you to manage all your translations in one place:

  • FR: Français (French)
  • EN: English
  • ES: Español (Spanish)

Visual indicators:

  • "Translated" badge: The field is translated in this language
  • ⚠️ "To translate" badge: The field is not yet translated
  • 🔄 "Auto" badge: The field has been automatically translated
  • ✏️ "Custom" badge: The field has been manually modified

These indicators help you track the status of your translations and identify fields that need your attention.

Best practices

To get the most out of the translation system:

1. Start with your primary language

First fill in all fields in your primary language. This is your reference.

2. Use automatic translation as a base

To save time, use automatic translation, then personalize important parts.

3. Adapt content to each language

Don't translate word for word. Adapt content to local culture and appropriate tone.

4. Check important translations

For critical elements (name, description, cancellation policy), take time to check and personalize translations.

5. Test your page in each language

Use preview mode to verify that everything displays correctly in each language.

Translatable fields

Here is the list of fields that can be translated:

Basic information:

  • Experience name
  • Description

For hotels:

  • Name of each room
  • Room features

Additional details:

  • Meeting point
  • Included items
  • Not included items
  • Cancellation policy

For activities:

  • Activity type and specific details

💡 Note: Some fields (such as prices, dates) are not translatable as they are universal.

Display for customers

Your customers automatically see your experience in their language:

  • If a customer visits your page in French, they see French translations
  • If a customer visits your page in English, they see English translations
  • If a customer visits your page in Spanish, they see Spanish translations

Default behavior:

If a translation is not available in a language, the system displays content in the primary language as a fallback.

💡 Advice: To offer the best experience to your international customers, make sure to translate all important fields in the 3 languages.
