Configure timezone

The timezone you configure in your general preferences determines how ¡HolaOlas! interprets and displays the times of your bookings. An incorrect configuration can cause time shifts in Google Calendar and time slot validation issues.

Why is it important?

Without a correctly configured timezone, you may encounter these problems:

  • Time shift in Google Calendar : Your bookings may appear at incorrect times (e.g., a booking at 11am may appear at 6am)
  • Past time slots not detected : The system may consider a time slot still available when it has already passed
  • Validation issues : Last-minute bookings may be incorrectly blocked or allowed when they shouldn't be
  • Confusion for your customers : The displayed times may not match the local time of your activity

How to configure your timezone

1. Go to SettingsGeneral preferences

2. In the Timezone section, select the timezone corresponding to your location

3. Click Save

Examples of common timezones :

  • Europe : `Europe/Paris`, `Europe/London`, `Europe/Madrid`
  • North America : `America/New_York`, `America/Los_Angeles`, `America/Mexico_City`, `America/Toronto`
  • South America : `America/Sao_Paulo`, `America/Buenos_Aires`, `America/Santiago`
  • Asia : `Asia/Tokyo`, `Asia/Shanghai`, `Asia/Dubai`
  • Oceania : `Australia/Sydney`, `Pacific/Auckland`

Verification after configuration

After configuring your timezone, verify that everything works correctly:

  • Create a test booking for a future time
  • Check in Google Calendar that the event appears at the correct time
  • Test time slot validation by trying to book a time slot that just passed (it should be blocked)

Important tips

  • Always use the timezone of your main location : If you operate in multiple timezones, use the one where you spend the most time
  • Update if you move : If you change location, don't forget to update your timezone
  • Check after time changes : Some timezones have time changes (daylight saving time), the system handles this automatically
  • Contact support if you have doubts : If you're not sure which timezone to use, our team can help you

Common problems and solutions

Problem : Bookings appear with a time shift of several hours in Google Calendar

Solution : Check that your timezone is correctly configured in preferences. The shift usually corresponds to the difference between your timezone and the server's timezone.

Problem : Past time slots are not correctly detected

Solution : Make sure your timezone matches your actual location. The system compares times in your configured timezone.
