Deposit or full payment: how payments work on ¡HolaOlas!

¡HolaOlas! offers two simple payment options:

  • deposit
  • full payment

The goal is to secure bookings while keeping the process clear and frictionless.

Deposit configuration

You can configure the deposit for each experience in your dashboard:

  • Enable or disable deposit option: If disabled, only full payments will be offered
  • Modify the percentage: Choose a percentage between 1% and 99% (default: 30%)
  • Per-experience configuration: Each experience can have its own deposit settings

💡 Tip: Access deposit settings in the "Deposit Settings" section when creating or editing an experience.

Deposit payment

When deposit is enabled and selected by the customer:

  • the customer pays the configured percentage (default 30%) upfront
  • the remaining balance is automatically charged by Stripe on the activity or arrival date
  • no manual action is required from the provider

This helps:

  • reduce last-minute cancellations
  • secure bookings
  • offer flexible payment to customers

Full payment

With full payment:

  • the customer pays 100% at booking
  • no additional charge is applied later

Often used for:

  • high-demand experiences
  • limited availability
  • higher-value activities

💡 Note: If the deposit option is disabled for an experience, only full payment will be available.

Customer transparency

In all cases:

  • paid amounts are clearly displayed
  • remaining balances are explained before payment
  • no surprises after booking
